Bulleh Shah was born Abdullah Shah, in the small village of Uch Gilaniyan in Bahawalpur, in 1680. At the age of six months, his parents moved to Malakwal. From there, his father, a preacher in the village mosque and a teacher, got a job in Pandoke – about fifteen miles southeast of Kasur. Bulleh Shah received his early education in Pandoke, and later moved to Kasur, for higher education, to become a pupil of the eminent teacher, Ghulam Murtaza.

Some of his sayings:::

Mulla tay mashaalchi dohaan ikko chit,Loukan karday chananan, aap anhairae vich

Masjid dha de, mandir dha de, dha de jo kucch dainda; Par kisi da dil na dhain, Rab dilan vich rehnda..

"Nahin reesan nahin ressan mere rangle punjab diyan..."

Well above couplet says it all. Punjab, the land of five rivers
is one of the most prosperous state of India. The land extremely
rich in its culture, cusine, people and espically music. In this
article I will talking about the music and litreature of punjab.
Punjabi folk is so rich, and versatile that even common man feels
it's charm. The exuberance and vitality of the people of Punjab
are vigorously displayed in their folk dances. With the drum beat
or to the tune of some other instrument of folk music, the
energetic feet of the people of Punjab are spontaneously set in to give birth to a folk dance - an expression of the soul
triumphant, an outburst of emotions. The dances of Punjab are the
clear depiction of the vitality and exuberance of the youth of
Punjab.
Also, punjabi litreature is also very rich and deep rooted. The
poems like "Heer" by waris shah says it all. The opening line
from waris shah's Heer says:

"Awal hamad khuda da vird keeje
Ishq kita su jag da mool mian
Pehlan aap hi rabb ne ishq kita
Te mashooq he nabi rasool mian"

this is awesome....such a beautiful and deep rooted wordings....
